Hiran,(insidesomalia.org)-Armed men opened random fire at a lorry transporting people and goods at Mataban district in Hiran region in central Somalia.  

The lorry driver who instantly died and 4 other people were the immediate casualties. The lorry left the town of Galkayo in Mudug region.

The wounded people were brought at Baladweyn general hospital were they are receiving medical treatment and the case of one the wounded person is quite serious as reports from the medical officials indicate.

Some close reports say that the driver lost control and rampaged over a barrier these bandits set up in the mid of Bergadid in Hiran region.

The security situation in those areas have been improving after the insurgents have carried out mass operation to eradicate brigands in the area though some times there was sneaking bandits who intercepted people traveling along the road which links Hiran to Mudug region.

Bandits normally opened fire to the travelers and whenever the vehicles stop they do rob the passengers of everything they posses
