Mogadishu,(insidesomalia.org)-Dr.Ismael Jimale Osoble local human rights group has called for the world community to put on trial those responsible the mass killings took place in Somalia for the last anarchy years in Somalia.
Speaking at a ceremony establishing a new human rights commission called “Madina general” in the capital the chief of the group Maryan Owreye has accentuated that it’s unnecessary to put on trial those behind the mass killings occurred in Somalia for the last 17 years.
She asked for the world community to rally round how the criminals would be put on war crimes trial those committed the bloodbath of additional Somali civilians.
“We are calling for the world community no to pay no heed to the civilian killers of the last 17 years” Owreye said.
At the ceremony the human rights group has put on show the aid high-quality work of the deceased human rights advocate woman called Madina Mohamed elmi Medina general that used to be civilians partner dedicated to offer them.
Madina was one of the most prominent figures in Somali civil society and her leadership of women's groups and strong sense of purpose earned her the moniker of Madina General, as those who worked with her and admired her knew her.
She was present at the epicenter of the unfolding emergency, assisting an aid distribution to her displaced compatriots, when a stray bullet in a tragic accident hit her, Defending vulnerable groups such as the displaced and seeking sustainable peace in Somalia was her vocation. She was a strong advocate for the disbandment of militia check-points and the reform of armed militia. More than a decade ago, she led the rehabilitation of Benadir Hospital. She passed away at the nearby Medina hospital.
To be an aid worker in Somalia today is to be a hero. It is one of the most dangerous places to work, and one of the places where aid workers are the least protected. Colleagues working in deserve huge respect and recognition, and even more, the utmost protection. Somalia has lost one of its heroines Madina Mohamud Elmi “Madina General”.
