Mogadishu, (insidesomalia.org) Ahmed Dirie Ali, Spokesman of the Hawiye Traditional Council and other key figures of the Council have been released on Sunday from prison by the Somali Transitional Federal Government, as confirmed by government officials in Mogadishu.
The released Hawiye elders who were in government detentions for more than two months includes Abdullahi Hassan Abukar "Abdullahi Dhere", the political spokesman of the council, Jumyale Mohmoud Nur, Deputy Chairman of the Hawiye Traditional Council, Hassan Raage , member of the council, Sheikh Ahmed Ali –Gees and Abdi-noor Ahmed Dirie, the son of the spokesman Ahmed Dirie.
The release come after political efforts made by the new Somali Prime Minister Nur Hassan Hussein who has arranged talks with the traditional elders in Mogadishu soon after he arrived in the capital city last week, said sources close to the premier.
Ahmed Dirie Ali was imprisoned on November 2003 alleged suspected supporting insurgents fighting Ethiopian and Somali government troops in the streets of Mogadishu.

Mr. Hassan was captured a month ago from KM-4 area in south of the capital by the government and taken into the custody.
Before leaving for the country's southwest city of Baidoa for talks with the United Nation delegates visiting there, Somalia premier Nur Adde said his government will do all its best to release the remaining members in the Hawiye Council from the prison.
Somali Prime Minister Nur Hassan Hussein vowed that his government plans starts negotiations with its opposition including insurgents fighting government troops in Mogadishu to contain security and restore peace.
People in Mogadishu have warmly received the release of the Hawiye clan elders by the Somali Transitional Federal Government.
