Hiran, (insidesomalia.org) - Number of crocodiles have wounded people in some locations in Balaedweyn town the headquarters of Hiran region in central Somalia.
The inhabitants of Bilis Did in the suburbs of Baladweyn town in Hiran region are complaining of flocks of which have come out of the water of River Shabelle which passes in the mid of Bilis Did location.
The residents in the location depend on the River water, and the pastuer in the area.
“These Crocodiles have so far eaten up 3 cows and 7 goats which were drinking water from the River” said Yussuf Ali a resident in the area.
The Crocodiles have also critically wounded a man and two women, who were as well quenching their thirst in the River.
Ali also added that these Crocodiles were not familier in the area before, and have floated down from the Ethiopian highlands down to Somalia.
“I have been living in these place for more than 40 years I have nevere seen such enormous Crocodiles” said Mother Amina a resident in the area.
The elders in the area are today having crucial discussion on how to deal with these scaring Crocodiles.
It was the beginning of this year when the River busted its banks and several Crocodiles came to land, and harmed the residents in Bilis Did location.
