Mogadishu, (InsideSomalia.org) Medicines Sans Frontiers "Doctors without Borders" said on Friday said it has decided pulling out its international staff in Somalia.
A statement released today in Nairobi said Eighty seven international staff has been withdrawn from 14 projects across Somalia.
"We find this attack against one of our teams absolutely intolerable, and a serious violation of the humanitarian action to which our late colleagues were so committed," said MSF International Council President Dr Christophe Fournier.
"Although life saving medical activities continue under the supervision of our dedicated Somali colleagues, the suspension will clearly hamper the essential medical work of MSF in Somalia," Fournier warned.
The pull out comes after three of MSF Holland staff , a Kenyan doctor, a French expert and a Somali driver along with a Somali journalist were killed by a roadside bomb on Monday in Kismayu, a town south west of Somalia.
MSF said the majority of the international staff being withdrawn would go to neighbouring Kenya, with no specific date for their return to Somalia.
The local authorities and police in kismayu said that they following to those behind the attack to put before justice and residents in Kismayu took into the streets protesting against the attack demanding the immediate capture of the culprits, said Mohamed Omer, a local reporter in Kismayu.
The day of grievance for the deceased MSF Holland staff was concluded yesterday in kismayu by civil societies, Human Rights and local residents since MSF Holland supports kismayu general hospital treating local residents with out charge.
Somali government struggles contain security and peace in Mogadishu as violence continues and spreads its wing into other areas in the southern parts of Somalia.
